I remember when this song first appeared on SNL. I was bewildered. It was so different and I hadn't formed my opinion as yet. But I was curiously searching for this video when I discovered such toxic vitriol in the comments. I'm happy to see that the mass opinion has shifted to see St. Vincent for the original talent in intrigue that she puts out. She has such a great sound.

This is what happens when you listen to the band the Talking Heads too much. She’s trying to hard to copy and mimic the look and sound of David Byrne, but she thinks she’s being unique and creative. Lady, do something different rather than rip off David Byrne and the Talking heads, that bezoar nerdy un self aware style has been done to death, come up with something else.

This is not the sort of music I listen to. Still, I've kept coming back to St.Vincent, and specifically this song, for years. For some reason it's mesmerising.
