Tommy Dorsey And His Orchestra's album Big Reunion Part One is a delightful collection of classic jazz tunes that will transport listeners back to the golden age of swing. The album features 12 tracks, each one showcasing the incredible musicianship and distinctive sound of the band.

From the opening track "Opus One" to the final notes of "I'm Getting Sentimental Over You," the album is a joy to listen to. The arrangements are tight, the solos are impressive, and the energy is infectious. Fans of big band music will be in heaven listening to this album.

One standout track is "Boogie Woogie," which features some truly impressive piano work by the legendary Buddy Rich. The track is a high-energy romp that will get listeners tapping their toes and nodding their heads. Another standout is "Song of India," which showcases the band's ability to create a lush, romantic atmosphere.

About Tommy Dorsey And His Orchestra

Orchestra under the leading of Tommy Dorsey, formed in 1935 and disbanded a first time in 1946. By late 1946, the band business was indeed having problems. In December 1946, some members of the band (including Tommy Dorsey) were calling it quits. However, less than two years later, he formed an orchestra with exactly the same name (Tommy Dorsey and his orchestra), but with different members. Dorsey's orchestra was known primarily for its renderings of ballads at dance tempos, frequently with singers such as Jack Leonard and Frank Sinatra.
